Cameron Costello is a Quandamooka man from Moreton Bay, Queensland, who brings a deep knowledge of First Nations people’s role in natural and cultural resource management to the Healthy Land and Water Board.
He is the Deputy Chair of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.
He has over 15 years of experience delivering First Nation policies and programs including the establishment of the Queensland Government’s Backing Indigenous Arts Program, the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair, and the Black Diamonds Program for Brisbane City Council. Cameron is also Chair of Healthy Land and Water’s Indigenous Engagement Committee.
Most recently, Cameron completed seven years as the CEO of the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC).
In 2020, Cameron received both the Griffith University Outstanding First Nation Peoples Alumnus Award and the University of Queensland Indigenous Community Impact Award.
